Dazey glass churns were designed for household butter making, with the hand crank turning the internal wooden dasher to agitate cream and separate the butter from the buttermilk. Historical Note
The Dazey Churn & Manufacturing Company was based in St. Louis, Missouri. Museum records document Dazey glass churns from the early 20th century, including models patented in the 1910s and 1920s. The Smithsonian also holds a Dazey rotary food mixer/churn dated 1922–1930.
